Final Attempt at Compromise on Austerity in Public Sector Fails

Ljubljana, 4 May - Talks on austerity measures in the public sector ended without agreement Friday as trade unions turned down the government's final compromise proposal for a 9% cut in pay and the withdrawal of measures affecting work norms and standards in education from the omnibus fiscal consolidation bill to be debated in parliament next week.
