Police Unions Seek Referendum on Austerity Act

Ljubljana, 17 May - Less than a week after parliament passed the omnibus austerity act, two police trade unions on Thursday formally initiated proceedings that may lead to a referendum on the legislation. This means that implementation of the act, which was to take effect this Saturday, has been suspended by at least a month.
