Delo: Janez Drnovšek: "Slovenes will be asked on the price of entering EU"

Ljubljana, 6 December - PRESS/SLOVENIA/DELO/DRNOVŠEK
"We have reached a blockade in the process of approaching EU. Which is why we want EU and Italy to state clearly what their demands are, to establish whether Slovenes are willing to pay the price. For several months we have made no progress, we are facing the forthcoming six-month Italian EU presidency, and judging from my previous experience with Italy, I can't expect any progress to be made during that period. Afterwards the elections will follow in Italy and Slovenia, so it is quite possible nothing will be achieved next year. If that's what are prospects are, I believe it right to ask Slovenes about that," Prime Minister Janez Drnovšek said in an interview for Delo Wednesday.
