More Permits for Road Freights to Italy

Ljubljana, 11 December - INTERNATIONAL/ROAD/FREIGHT/TRAFFIC
The Ministry of Transport of Communication reached an increase in permit quotas for Slovene freighters, the state secretary at the Ministry of Transport and Communications Marjana Novak told at a news conference Monday. Italy is not interested in increasing permit quotas as Slovene freighters are free in setting their prices, which makes them more competitive, so that Italian companies often hire Slovene instead of domestic freighters. By introducing special additional elements to the basic quota, the Ministry managed to increase the permit quotas for transport of bitumen and building materials as well as transport to Italian ports, Novak said.
