Winding Up This Year and Anticipating Culture Budget for Next Year

Ljubljana, 14 December - CULTURE/PROGRAMM/BUDGET
Talking to journalists, Minister of Culture Sergij Pelhan assessed the results of this department in this year in the areas of books production, theatre, film, the culture of national minorities, amateur and alternative culture. He also talked about the fears of the department in the face of the draft national budget for 1996 in which the funds allocated for culture (minus the wages and new obligations) are nominally reduced by 6 percent compared to the first draft budget and amount to SIT 13.3 billion (not taking into account the inflation rate, this is only just under a half billion of tolars more than in 1995).
