Tomba in Lead before Košir, 4 Slovenes in Finals

Italian Alberto Tomba is in the lead after the first run of the men's World Cup slalom in Kranjska gora Friday. Tomba finished 0.51 second ahead of the hometown favorite Jure Košir and 0.53 ahead of Norwegian Finn Christian Jagge. Other Slovenes that qualified for the second run are: Andrej Miklavc, who placed 13th, Mitja Kunc (17th) and Matjaž Vrhovnik (29th). Rene Mlekuž and Matej Jovan were too slow to enter the second run.
