Review of Slovenian Press

Ljubljana, 7 July - Slovenia's press today reports extensively on yesterday's session of the National Assembly. It focuses on the rejected interpellation against Minister of Justice Miha Kozinc. This also forms the topic of the majority of editorial columns. The press also devotes much attention to the parliamentary discussion of Slovenian-Croatian relations and to the introduction of the petrol tax. This would introduce a higher price for petrol by SIT 10 per litre. The money from the tax would be channelled into the fund for reconstruction and modernisation of Slovenian roads. In the forefront of events abroad there is the meeting between Slovenian President Milan Kučan and Austrian President Thomas Klestil held in Austrian Carinthia. Monday's press conference given by Croatian President Franjo Tudjman is still reverberating.
