Kučan: "Five Years of Independence gives Confidence and Self-Esteem to Slovene People"

"I firmly believe five years of living in a free, independent state has fully justified the will Slovenes and citizens of Slovenia expressed at a national referendum on 23 December 1990. Even more so since supporting the referendum question was the argument that the then Yugoslavia was a threat to Slovene nation," President Milan Kučan said during an interview he gave to STA on occasion of 5th national referendum anniversary, adding it is particularly encouraging for Slovene politics to find out the number of people supporting the decision has not at all abated.
