Večer: Unnecessary Referendum

Ljubljana, 29 December - None of the 15 EU countries or the associated EU members called a referendum to determine whether to join the European Union or not, which is what our politicians are thinking about. The common procedure which these countries followed was to call a referendum only after the lengthy negotiations on accession with the EU have been concluded. Only after all relations had been made clear, the countries asked their citizens whether they agreed with joining the EU, Večer writes Friday.
