Bishop Slomšek Remembered as Bright Figure in Slovenian History

Maribor, 19 September - A ceremonial academy dedicated to the 150th anniversary of the death of Bishop Anton Martin Slomšek (1800-1862), a key figure in Slovenians' struggle for national identity and mother tongue, was held in Maribor on Wednesday. President of the Academy of Sciences and Arts (SAZU) Jože Trontelj gave the keynote speech.
