Former MP Gets One Year in Prison for Abuse of Office

Ljubljana, 20 September - Pavel Rupar, a former MP for the Democrats (SDS), was sentenced Thursday to one year in prison and a fine of EUR 40,000 for abuse of office while he was the mayor of Tržič in 2004, the fourth time in five years that he was found guilty of wrongdoing associated with his tenure as mayor.
