Slovenia Becomes Full CEFTA Member on 1 January

"On 1 January Slovenia became a full member to the Central European Free Trade Agreement. The membership gives the country a stronger economic and political position among the Central European countries, joining it to the group of four most successful countries in transition to market economy (i.e. Hungary, Slovakia, Poland and the Check Republic). "It is true CEFTA cannon replace EU membership, but it can make Slovenia's accession to EU much easier," Minister of Economic Relations and Development Janko Deželak said on Slovene entry to CEFTA Monday.
