Ljubljana, 12 October - The president in Slovenia mostly has representative and protocol responsibilities, which makes the scope of his powers much more modest than in comparable European parliamentary systems. Still, the president, directly elected every five years, continues to wield substantial symbolic power and plays a notable role in nomination procedures.
