Weekly Review of Slovene Economy from 6 through 13 January

Ljubljana, 13 January - Slovene government delegation led by the Minister of Economic Relations and Development Janko Deželak left for US Sunday to participate at the 4th Ministerial Conference East-West (Muenster IV), scheduled to take place from Monday to Wednesday in Baltimore, US. But due to bad weather the organizer, US Ministry of Commerce, cancelled the conference on Monday afternoon, when the Slovene delegation was already in US. Nevertheless, the Slovene delegation held meetings with the Slovak delegation, headed by the Minister of Economic Affairs Jan Ducky, and with the US Secretary of Commerce Ronald Brown. Through Secretary Brown's support Slovenia became full member of the ministerial conference East - West, designed to bolster cooperation between developed countries and central and eastern Europe states and successors to the former Soviet Union, all the countries being in transition to market economy.
