Delo: A Strategic Interest Pact

Ljubljana, 18 January - As the meeting of the Italian-Croatian commission in Rome is believed to have a predominantly routine nature it is unreasonable to expect long-term decisions to be taken during its introductory sessions. It concerns bilateral relations between two countries, with which Slovenia holds unsolved questions, and which are negotiating issues, binding Slovenia to an interest pact with one of the negotiating parties (with Croatia, in establishing legal basis of relations between successors to former Yugoslavia), writes Delo's commentator.
