State Pays EUR 12m in Compensation for Pollution on NE Transit Route

Murska Sobota/Maribor, 24 December - While the A5 motorway connecting Maribor with Hungary ended in 2008 the heavy traffic on local roads in the north-east of the country, one of the biggest mass lawsuits in the country, filed by more than 2,500 affected by the noise and pollution along this transit route, is still unfolding, with almost EUR 12m in damages paid out so far.
