The Odes - Veno Taufer's 10th Collection of Poems

Less than a week after Veno Taufer, a poet, translator, drama critic and the initiator and director of the Vilenica Central European literary meetings, received the highest artistic award in Slovenia - the Prešeren Award - a new collection of poems by Veno Taufer was introduced at the Association of Slovene Writers. Titled "The Odes", this is Mr Taufer's 10th collection of poems or, counting also individual selections, the 14th book of his poetry. The collection bears the scars of the present, of the time marked by the destruction of the European civilization in the Balkans, the poet Veno Taufer said Tuesday.
