Slovenia Imported 12,500 Used Motor Vehicles in 1995

Slovene Government recently adopted the text of a draft law on amendments to the current law on sales tax. According to the Government, it is necessary to adopt this law in order to assure additional funds from this tax and to reduce differences between taxes on new and used imported motor vehicles, thus preventing increased import of used motor vehicles. In 1995, Slovenia imported 12,500 used motor vehicles worth SIT 9.5 billion (US$ 72 million).
