The number of employed increased in non-economic activities in December 1995
Ljubljana, 3 March - STATISTICS/EMPLOYMENT/UNEMPLOYMENT
There were 873,124 employed in Slovenia last December, the number of females amounting to 415,305, males to 457,819. Of these, 50,539 were employed in private sector and 109,571 were self-employed. Social sector and private enterprises employed 586,255 persons, among which 48.8 percent were female. The National Statistics Office recorded a 0.4 percent fall in the number of employed in December 1995 over November 1995. In economic activities the decrease was 0.6 percent, the non-economic activities, however, saw a 0.2 percent increase. The unemployment rate in December was 14.5 percent, which shows an increase of 0.1 percentage point compared to November.
