Standards and Metrology Institute: With Compatible Standards to Europe

The Standards and Metrology Institute of Slovenia (USM) made it a goal for 1996, beside regular routine activities in the international field, to increase Slovenia's international reputation and to contribute to a smoother and speedier accession of Slovenia to the European Union. The first task is to be done by taking an active part in those European organizations where EU membership is not essential, and the second by satisfying the demands of the EU White Book, Director of USM Bogdan Topič told a news conference Monday.
