Mladina: "Slovenia Subject to Global Italian Pressure"

Ljubljana, 11 March - PRESS/SLOVENIA/MLADINA
"As head of the Slovene part of the mixed Italian - Slovene Commission for Legal and Property Issues I had four meetings with my Italian colleagues. I realized than that Italians have backed away from their principal promise that in revising the Osimo agreements that want mere "cosmetic changes" to be made. The truth was they wanted to exert global pressure upon Slovenia. They also adopted fairly lax interpretations of a number of other promises, made during the Demos government", Tone Poljšak, head of the Slovene part of the mixed Italian-Slovene Commission for Legal and Property Issues, which for several years has been trying to resolve the Slovene-Italian dispute regarding real estate of ethnic Italians who fled the country after WW2 (optants), said Monday in an interview for the distinguished Slovene political weekly Mladina.
