Weekly Review of Slovene Economy from 25 through 30 March

Ljubljana, 30 March - At Thursday's Government session, Minister of Economic Affairs Metod Dragonja said the National Development Fund had already filed a petition in bankruptcy for the TAM umbrella company. The next stage of rehabilitation foresees foundation of thirteen new financially independent companies, which will take over the activities of current subjects, and employ 1350 workers. Government also approved additional guarantees for credits amounting to DM 3.3 million, which are to assure TAM's production and operating in April, Dragonja said. According to him, the transfer of activities to new companies will have to be under control, and continuation of production will have to be assured. Government approved a 9 percent increase in the prices of railway passenger transport, which takes effect on 1 April. The rise will result in a 0.047 percent point increase of retail prices.
