Photography in Croatia 1848-1951 in National Gallery
Ljubljana, 16 April - EXHIBITION/PHOTOGRAPHY/CROATIA/NATIONAL/GALLERY
An exchange exhibition prepared in cooperation between Croatia's Museum of Arts and Crafts and Ljubljana's National Gallery, entitled Photography in Croatia 1848 - 1951 will open here Wednesday. Featuring 389 works and presenting the development of photography in Croatia during the above period, which indicates close interdependence of Slovene and Croatian photographies from their early days till present time, the exhibition is will be opened by Foreign Minister Zoran Thaler and presented by the authors, Director of Zagreb's museum Vladimir Maleković and Marija Tonković. Accompanying the exhibition is a lengthy catalogue in Slovene and Croatian languages with a Slovene appendix of authors' forewords entitled Croatia as a Civilizational and Cultural Framework of Photography 1848-1951 and An Outline of Development of Photography in Croatia.
