Slovenian Press Review

Ljubljana, 22 July - The Slovenian dailies on their front pages discuss the discovery of over 100 tons of weapons and ammunition, hidden for almost a year in boxes containing "humanitarian aid" in a warehouse at Maribor airport. Another discovery was that Mr Zmago Jelinčič, leader of the Slovenian National Party and a deputy in the National Assembly, was a collaborator for the Yugoslav state security service. The newspapers also report the visit to Paris by Slovenian Minister of Foreign Affairs Lojze Peterle and the meeting between the Slovenian Prime Minister Janez Drnovšek and the Slovenian metropolitan Alojzij Šuštar. Another important subject was the visit of the Belgian Foreign Minister Willy Claes to Zagreb and the continuation of the talks in Geneva.
