150th Anniversary of the First Train Arriving to Slovenia

In early June Slovenia will celebrate 150th anniversary of the first train having arrived to Slovenia, as after the test ride on 18 May 1846, regular traffic on route Gradec-Celje was established on 18 May the same year. Marking the occasion, the Slovene Railways (SŽ) will conduct a series of events from mid-May onwards, which are to culminate with a ceremony on 1 June at the railway station in Celje, eastern Slovenia. The day called an open-door day, all trains will run free of charge for all passangers.
