Almost Quarter of GDP Went for Social Protection in 2012
Ljubljana, 30 July - The cost of social protection programmes in Slovenia in 2012 amounted to EUR 8.96bn or almost a quarter of the country's GDP. The figure was down by 1% compared to the year before primarily due to legislative changes related to pensions and social transfers, according to data from the national Statistics Office.
