Review of reports in Slovenian press
Ljubljana, 23 July - Under the headings "Containers arrive with Russian Ilyushins" (Delo), "First detention of suspects" (Večer), "Detention first for the director" (Republika), "Customs fog?" (Dnevnik), "First suspects in the arms affair detained" (Slovenec), today's press in Slovenia devotes its first pages to reports of the discovery of more than one hundred tons of arms at Maribor airport. And the "Jelinčič file" is still causing a big stir. The main editorial columns are also devoted to these two subjects. Slovenian papers are also directing considerable attention to the proposed visit by the Croatian Prime Minister, Nikica Valentić, to Ljubljana, where he is expected to meet with Sovenian Prime Minister Janez Drnovšek, as well as directing attention to the completed visit by Slovenia's foreign minister, Lojze Peterle, to Paris. Other main reports include the situation in Bosnia-Herzegovina and the clashes around Sarajevo.
