The visit in Slovenia is already 71st visit of Pope John Paul II abroad. When the plane with the Holy Father landed at the Ljubljana airport some minutes before five in the afternoon, this was the second time a head of the Roman-Catholic Church came to Slovenia. Namely, in 1782 Pope Pij VI stopped here when travelling to Vienna.
