Employment Rate Down for Fourth Consecutive Month

Unemployment rate declined throughout the first half of last year, but took an upward trend in the second half, with average registered unemployment rate staying at 13.9 per cent of active population. In this period the National Employment Office helped find employment to 60,000 persons. Last year was characterized by structural unemployment with older and lower-educated persons seeking new employment mostly offered to different profiles of people, the National Employment Office (RZZ) Director Jože Glazer told a news conference Wednesday. March unemployment rate was 13.9 per cent, both for men and women.
