Slovene Agriculture Encumbered by Delays in Purchase of Cattle

The latest opinion poll conducted among slovene cooperatives showed that delays in the purchase of cattle and pigs were still big: this April the purchase of cattle was down by 20 percent compared to the monthly average of 1995, and at the same time the number of unsold cattle increased. The situation is somewhat better as regards the purchase of pigs. The purchase prices of cattle and pigs dropped and so did the sale of meet to the final consumer.
