Road Safety in Slovenia Satisfactory, Behaviour of Irresponsible Individuals Alarming

Despite positive tendencies manifested in all respects by the comparison of statistical data on traffic safety in Slovenia in the first third 1996 and 1995, we cannot be satisfied with the current daily situation on Slovene roads, Chief of the Office for Traffic Safety at the Ministry of Interior Affairs Bojan Matevžič told a news conference on Monday. He said Slovenia was probably one of the few countries where undisciplined individuals overtake even in tunnels. Matevžič was especially critical of the state of roadworks security.
