Slovene Economy: Strengthening Economic Co-operation
Ljubljana, 29 May - ECONOMY/PRESENTATION/PRIVATIZATION
Minister of Economic Relations and Development (MERD) Janko Deželak described at Wednesday's news conference the Ministry's current activities concerning intense promotion of Slovene economy, as well as some agreements on the strengthening of economic relations, paying special attention to a seminar on motivations and obstacles for foreign direct investments, taking place in the framework of OECD in the north-western town Bled at the beginning of June 1996. State Secretary for Privatization Edo Pirkmajer delineated part of a report of the privatization and development service dealing with the process of property transformation. He stressed the importance to immediately pass a bill on the privatization of state-owned property. The second part of the report, concerning the development of regions, was presented by the government counsellor Ivo Piry.
