PM Cerar's Daughter Competing for Miss Sports
Ljubljana, 31 March - This year's Miss Sports pageant will be somewhat different, as one of the finalists will be a daughter of Slovenia's number one politician. The prime minister's daughter, a fan of basketball and running, was convinced by friends to take part.
The 17-year old Eva Cerar, whose father Miro Cerar took office six months ago, will be among the 18 finalist competing for the title next month.
The love for sports runs in the Cerar family. Eva's grandfather Miroslav Cerar is one of the most famous Slovenian athletes, having won three Olympic medals in gymnastics and becoming world champion five times.
"Sport means fun, relaxation, socialising and discipline," said the young Eva, who used to train basketball, as she presented her bid.
She said her father had no objections to her Miss Sports plans. "He always helps and supports me, that's why I love him so much."
The pageant for Miss Sports Slovenia will take place on 18 April in Ljubljana.
