Slovenian Bank Privatisation: Fits and Starts

Ljubljana, 30 June - Slovenia has a long and troubled history of bank privatisation. Foreign banks, which currently hold about a third of the market share, made their first takeovers in the early 2000s, when Austrian banks were joined by French and Italian players. But a full privatisation of a Slovenian bank had not taken place until today.
