Ceremony to Mark 500th Anniversary of Slovenian Peasant Revolt

Brežice, 19 June - The 500th anniversary of the largest peasant uprising in the Slovenian lands within the Holy Roman Empire will be marked at a ceremony in Brežice, east, on Friday evening. The five-month revolt is believed to have started in Kočevje, spreading to most of what is now Slovenia and included around 80,000 rebels at its peak.
