Trzin, 14 August - Although Slovenian wines are yet to achieve the popularity of French or Italian wines, their quality is highly valued. This has been demonstrated by a wealthy Russian, who paid more than half a million euros for a bottle of Refošk dessert wine adorned with a diamond.

It was commissioned as a gift by a Russian customer with Palmieri, a family company which has a a long olive oil-making tradition.

Palmieri's first wine collection was launched earlier this year through Indiegogo crowdfunding platform. Apart from the white truffle combination, the Refošk dessert wines are also paired with honey and vanilla.
