Davorin Kračun New Foreign Minister?
Ljubljana, 1 July - COALITION/LDS/SKD
Two governmental parties, the Liberal Democracy of Slovenia (LDS) and the Slovene Christian Democrats (SKD), discussed at Monday's meeting candidates for a new foreign minister which were proposed to be appointed as such by Premier Janez Drnovšek. From among three proposed candidates, the SKD were most favourably disposed towards Davorin Kračun, former LDS minister of economic relations and development. However, the SKD executive committee still has to form an opinion about the candidate and will voice it on Tuesday morning. According to LDS Secretary General Gregor Golobi, Premier Drnovšek will pass the proposal to the parliament, which is to decide on the new foreign minister on an extraordinary session, on Tuesday or Wednesday.
