Suggestion of the Basel Bank for the Division of Asset of Former Yugoslav Central Bank

The Bank of Slovenia has received this week a document from the Basel-based Bank of International Settlements about the division of frozen assets of the former National Bank of Yugoslavia (NBJ). Its contents concern two important issues, the first is about distribution of assets in gold, which amounted to about US$ 565 million according to the market price of gold at the beginning of the week, and about the distribution of assets - that is three deposits in Swiss francs, American dollars and German marks. According to the proposal by the Bank of Slovenia to the Basel bank, the documents distributes 8000 shares of the former NBJ to the central banks of the former Yugoslav republics, the Governor of the Bank of Slovenia France Arhar said in a statement for the STA.
