Ljubljana, 4 August - In editorials entitled "Security System Outside the Budget" (Delo), "One Percent of National Income For Military Systems For Next Eight Years?" (Slovenec), "Law for Next Decades?" (Dnevnik), "New Billions for Defence" (Republika), "Adjusting to Needs" (Večer), the front pages of today's Slovenian papers cover a press conference, at which the Slovenian Minister of Defence, Janez Janša, presented the draft Law on Defence. At the forefront of other domestic news are the position of the Slovenian tolar (Večer, Dnevnik) and new higher prices (Delo). Republika provides a commentary on a survey of the values, opinions and political views among Slovene secondary-school students. At the forefront of events abroad is NATO's decision on military intervention in Bosnia-Herzegovina and the increased tensions between Serbs and Croats, caused by the Serbian attack on the Maslenica bridge.
