Ljubljana, 25 December - Slovenians rejected marriage equality in a referendum that coincided with a weekend of protests against the border wire fence. As the nation remembered the independence referendum 25 years ago, the government formally nominated Danilo Türk the country's candidate for the UN chief. Slovenia also lost a long-running N-plant dispute with Croatia.
