Prevc back to winning
Almaty, 27 February - Peter Prevc won the ski-jumping World Cup event in Almaty on Saturday and is on track to securing the overall World Cup win.
With jumps of 141 and 137.5 metres, Prevc finished ahead of Austrian Michael Haybock and German Severin Freund.
Prevc now has a 599-point lead on Freund seven events before the end of the season. He could theoretically secure the overall win in the second event in Almaty tomorrow.
Two more Slovenians made the top ten. Robert Kranjec was fifth and Jurij Tepeš sixth.
The win comes after a lacklustre showing in the Finnish leg of the competition, leading commentators to describe Prevc as suffering from a Finnish curse.
