The latest inflation records - 0.5 percent in June and July, 0.7 percent in May and 1.1 percent in the first six months of 1996 - have confirmed expectations of the National Office for Macroeconomic Analyses and Development that monthly price growths would abate by summer. Decreased annual inflation growth is expected in early fall, when inflation is to drop back to a one-digit level.
