1,990,266 Citizens in Slovenia in end-December

Ljubljana, 5 August - On the last day of last year Slovenia had a population of 1,990.266, of which 49 percent or 968,074 were male and 51 percent or 1,022,192 female. Slovene citizens - without those temporarily living abroad - numbered 1,942,062, of which 48 percent or 938,594 were male and 52 percent or 1,003,470 female, the National Statistical Office reported. On 31 December 1995 Slovenia was therefore 57,936 citizens short of two millions.
