Weekly Review of Slovene Economy from 4 through 10 August

Ljubljana, 10 August - Slovene Minister of Finance Mitja Gaspari visited Luxembourg Monday, where he had several long talks with his host, Premier and Minister of Finance Jean-Claud Juncker. The bilateral talks were "of extremely working nature as well as concrete," said some representatives of the Slovene delegation. Slovenia wants to strengthen its cooperation with Luxembourg in various fields, including finances, banking and the field of insurance. That is the reason why Slovenia is interested in Luxembourg's experiences in these fields. Slovenia also wants to increase its trade exchange with Luxembourg. In 1995, Slovenia exported to Luxembourg goods worth US$ 2.28 million and imported for US$ 9.56 million, making up a deficit of US$ 7.28 million.
