The streetball tournament in Maribor will be followed by tournaments in Celje and Ljubljana on Friday and Saturday, with the last tournament being scheduled for later this month in Postojna.
The winners of the four tournaments will compete in the final tournament in September to determine the 2016 Slovenian streetball champion.
Outdoor training enthusiasts will meanwhile be challenged by a 7-km track around Velenje Lake, including as many as 20 obstacles that will test their endurance and fitness.
The participants are encouraged to come in groups to help each other, while the organisers hope that they will also help those competing on their own to show the true team spirit in challenging obstacles.
The Alpe Adria cycling festival will meanwhile take place between 17 and 19 June, including two mountain marathons, one between Austria's Villach, Slovenia's Kranjska Gora and Italy's Tarvisio, and the other from Bovec, through the Soča Valley, across the Vršič pass to Kranjska Gora and back to Austria's Villach.
