OLYMPICS: Slovenia's Olympic heritage stretches over a century

Ljubljana, 2 August - Slovenian athletes competed under the Slovenian flag for the first time at the winter Olympics in Albertville in 1992. But the history of Slovenian appearances is much longer, dating back to the early 20th century.

Rudolf Cvetko is consiered the first Slovenian at the Olympics, having competed for the Austro-Hungarian empire in fencing in Stockholm in 1912.
