Review of Slovenian Press
Ljubljana, 9 August - Slovenian daily newspapers today devote their front pages to the decision, to be reached today by NATO, on air strikes against Serbian positions, and to the continued fighting in Bosnia-Herzegovina. These are the topics of several editorials. At the forefront of domestic events are a commentary on this year's level of tourism (Večer), a report on the volume of industrial production in June, which dropped by 5.3 per cent compared to the same period last year to the level of 1974 (Delo), and the results of the Youth 1993 survey (Republika), showing that nearly one half of the questioned secondary-school students (47.3 per cent) maintain that the ideal state is one where only Slovenes live; only 28.2 per cent dispute such a statement.
