Slovenians celebrate reunification of Prekmurje with Slovenia

Ljubljana, 17 August - The Slovenians will celebrate Prekmurje Reunification Day on Wednesday, remembering the return of the north-eastern region to Slovenia after WWI, when it passed from the military to the civilian authority of the newly-established Kingdom of Serbs, Croats and Slovenes, which fought on the side of the Allies.

The region of Prekmurje celebrating nearly 100 years since it passed from under Hungarian rule to the Kingdon of Serbs, Croats and Slovenes. Pictured is the arts centre in Lendava, one of the biggest towns in the region.
