Sport Week in Ljubljana invites with many events
Ljubljana, 6 September - The Sport Week in Ljubljana, taking place between Tuesday and Saturday, will offer a multitude of events related to sport and recreation, including "mini Olympic days".
For starts, the local magazine Ljubljana will publish a list of providers of recreational and fitness courses in the coming season.
Visitors will be able to test outdoor fitness facilities in the Slovenian capital under the guidance of professional trainers.
Health institutes and other organisations will meanwhile put up stands in front of the Town Hall on Wednesday, offering advice, taking measurements and presenting health-related programmes.
Visitors will be able to learn everything about healthy lifestyle and test their conditioning.
The Slovenian Olympic Committee will organise "mini Olympic days" in Congress Square on Thursday and Friday, which will feature "Slovenian Olympians, an Olympic torch, an Olympic flag and an Olympic oath".
On Saturday, more than a hundred sport associations and companies will present their products and services in Congress Square and the adjacent Zvezda Park.
A prize draw will also be organised by the sponsors of the event and a number of associations. The event will conclude with a street basketball competition in the evening.
The Ptuj Sport Weekend will meanwhile take place in Slovenia's oldest town between Thursday and Sunday, which will include mini Olympics, a cycling event, a frisbee and a footgolf competition.
