Ljubljana residents satisfied with life in their city
Luxembourg, 7 September - The residents of Ljubljana are very satisfied with life in their city, according to an analysis of urban areas released by the EU's statistical office Eurostat, which puts the city among the top ten capitals with the highest satisfaction levels.
The report showed that 92% of Ljubljana's inhabitants were satisfied with life in the capital in 2015, which puts the city among the top 10 with the highest satisfaction levels. Compared to 2012, the figure rose by 2 percentage points.
The highest satisfaction levels were found in Vilnius, where 98% of the population was satisfied with life in the city, closely followed by Stockholm and Copenhagen (97% each), and Vienna and Luxembourg (96% each).
Ljubljana is tenth, followed by Amsterdam, Zagreb, Dublin and Warsaw.
The lowest satisfaction levels were found in Athens, where 71% of the population was satisfied with life in their city, Rome (80%), Bucharest and Paris (83% each).
However, the data shows that the largest increase of satisfaction levels between 2012 and 2015 was recorded for Athens (+15 pp), while the number dropped in Amsterdam, Berlin and Lisbon (all -2 pp), as well as Paris and Helsinki (both -1 pp).
